Launching ceremony of research expedition vessel Akademik Treshnikov will take place on Tuesday on March 29, reports the Central Navy Portal referring to JSC Admiralteyskie Verfi. The Project 22280 scientific vessel was developed by Krylov Research Institute and Baltsudproekt Design Bureau specially for Antarctic expeditions. State contract for construction of a new research expedition vessel for Russian Antarctic Expedition was signed by JSC Admiralteyskie Verfi shipyard and Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (Rosgidromet) on Dec 1, 2008.
